Now
There's No Reason
You
Can't Have Your Own Website
For several years, I wanted my own
website. I tried to get started, but each time, I got discouraged and quit.
Then I had a breakthrough. I discovered the tools I used to create this site.
Looking back, I'm amazed at how much I learned and how far I've come in a very
short time. I'm no technical wiz, so if I can do it, you can too!
What Do You Want to Do?
You
CAN
build your own website. But the more important question is WHY?
What motivates you? What's your goal?
- Do
you have a ministry that you want to share?
- Do
you have a message you want to communicate?
- Do
you want to start a home business online to suppliment your income?
All of these goals are achievable, but not without
some effort on your part. Yet, you definitely can do it. And I'm not talking
about spending 1,000s of hours, quitting your job, or doing anything crazy.
I've developed this site on nights and weekends while handling a challenging,
full-time job. Setting up this site has been enjoyable, and a
positive change of pace. In the process I have
acquired valuable new skills that have already helped me in my regular job.
You can do the same thing--acquire useful skills, learn a ton, and develop a
site you'll be proud with
less effort than you probably imagine.
My Top Ten List of Website Building
I'm stunned, and
a little embarrassed, at the misconceptions I had about building a website
just a few months ago. I now realize I didn't get started on my own site sooner
because I believed some things that just were not true. Maybe you're getting stumped by some of these things.
If so, I can help. Just for fun, I developed this Top Ten list of false beliefs
about website. See how many of these have stumped you like they did me.

Kramp's Top Ten List of False Things People Believe
That
Keep Them From Launching An Effective Website
False
Belief Number 10: A
catchy name (URL) is the key to a successful site that makes lots of money.
False
Belief Number 9: Successful sites must
be created by a professional graphic designer.
The
Truth: Some of the most successful sites
use incredibly simply designs that anyone can do using a few simple
tools.
False
Belief Number 8: A catchy name plus a a fancy
website equals a successful site.
False
Belief Number 7: To have my own website,
I need to learn HTML.
The
Truth: Most of us will never learn HTML
and, fortunately, don't need to. There are programs and tools that do
this work for you so you can focus your attention on more important
matters.
False
Belief Number 6: You must choose
just the right web hosting
company to be successful.
The
Truth: Of
course, it is important to have
a reputable web host for your site, but it's easier than you think to
find one. The tools I discovered made this process so simple I couldn't
believe it.
False
Belief Number 5: It
is not necessary to understand the "key words" people use to search the Internet.
The
Truth: Most people find what they are
looking for online by searching on specfic terms. If you don't know
the terms people use, you may end up with no traffic on your site.
False
Belief Number 4: You don't need to know anything
about search engines to be successful.
The
Truth: Most people will find your site
through the search engines. They all work differently and there are
certain things you must do to increase the chance that your site will
appear near the top of top of the list.
Understanding search engines is both art and science. Fortunetely,
the tool that I use makes it possible for non-technical people like me to optimize my site for outstanding
results on various search
engines.
False
Belief Number 3: You need to hire a consultant
or purchase lots of books by Internet experts to help you build your site.
The
Truth: Seperating the
experts and
the charlatans on the Internet and in bookstores is challenging. You
can spend lots of money purchasing information
that, in the end, is worth little or nothing. The tool I discovered was
a breakthrough for me. As part of the package, I received expert advice in
simple, easy-to-understand language. It guided me step-by-step
through the entire process. If I had found this tool earlier, I could
have saved lots of money.
False
Belief Number 2: It's easy to set up a website
and make money. You should quit your job and focus on your site to start
the money rolling in.
The
Truth: I
have seen this kind of claim, and, franklin, it makes me mad. It's an outright
lie. Doing anything
in life requires time and energy. Forget the idea of
"easy money" to be made online . . . unless you are a scam
artist. The good news, is that
you can get started online with a financial investment of less than
$500. You can build your own website. If you use the tool I recommend, you
can make money. But you definitely should not quit your "day
job."
False
Belief Number 1: Starting a successful website
is for other people . . . but not for me. I just can't do it.
The
Truth: You can do it. It's not fall-out-of-bed
easy.
It's not push-a-button automatic. It will require work. But if you use the tool that
I recommend (and use), you can do it. Why? Because this tool is an All-In-One
Solution. For a surprisingly low price you get everything you need:
- A
great name for your site that includes the annual registration
fee for your URL.
- Simple
tools to help you design your site even if you no nothing about
design or HTML.
- A
webhost for your site.
- Tools
to help you identify the key "search terms" you need
to use in your site.
- Guidance
in optimizing your site for various search engines and automatic
submission to various search engines.
- A
comprehensive, well-written handbook of step-by-step information to guide
you through each step of the process. The handbook is written in such
a way that you feel like you have a friendly guide helping and
encouraging you through each step.
- Regular
email updates with important, timely information about
the ever-changing world of the Internet along with steps you
can take to improve your site and make it more successful.
The
amazing thing is that you get all of this (and more) for less than $500. Honestly, I still can't believe
this is true, but I tell you it is. This is the tool I use and I'm just
describing to you my actual experience.
