Praying From Matthew Chapter 20

O Lord, when you passed by the two blind men on the road, they called out, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David." In their blindness, they saw clearly what the crowd failed to see. The blind men saw their need for you and relied on your mercy.

What a wonderful question you asked them: "What do you want Me to do for you?" They asked you to open their eyes. Moved with compassion, you did as they asked.

How much I need you to open my spiritual eyes. Allow me to see you more clearly today, follow you in joyful obedience, and live with an overwhelming awareness of your mercy to me.

29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. 30 There were two blind men sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" 31 The crowd told them to keep quiet, but they cried out all the more, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" 32 Jesus stopped, called them, and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" 33 "Lord," they said to Him, "open our eyes!" 34 Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they could see, and they followed Him. (Matt. 20:29-34, HCSB)
