Praying From Matthew Chapter 12
Loving Lord, let me not come to you as the scribes and the
Pharisees saying, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."
Remind me this day of your answer to them: "An
evil and adulterous generation
demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet
Jonah. For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish three days
and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days
and three nights."
Lord, Jesus, your death, burial, and resurrection stands as
the ultimate sign of your power over all things though out time. I live in the
power of that sign today.
38 Then
some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign
from You." 39 But He
answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will
be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as
Jonah was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, so the Son
of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. (Matt.
